More About Me
I grew up in a series of small, rural villages in the North of England – we moved house several times so I imagine that is where my interest in real estate began. Most vacations were spent in the South of France and I have a particular fondness for Provence. I used to be fluent in French but these days my vocabulary is a little rusty.

At University in Liverpool, I earned my teaching degree and my first claim to fame there was that my English professor also taught Paul McCartney in high school! After college, I went to work for a major international bank and eventually became a corporate trainer at their International Training Center in London. My passion for training led to me become a Massachusetts Real Estate Instructor (MREI) in 2016.

Arriving from England with my family in 1984, we first made our first home in Acton, then Boxborough. When family dynamics changed in 2010 we sold that house and I have lived in several homes since then but I am now back and happy to be here.

I got into real estate sales almost by accident! The owner of Acton Real Estate was a neighbor and we became friends and in 1998 I got my real estate license.

Choosing Acton Real Estate was a conscious decision to surround myself with professional and successful people. In 2018 we were acquired by Barrett Sotheby’s International Realty and I now have access to even higher quality resources and an even more amazing support system so the future looks bright. I attribute my success to putting the focus on listening to my clients’ wants and needs. I feel that communication and empathy are essential skills in real estate (having moved several times, including an international relocation, I feel I have empathy in abundance!), together with a sense of humor. I take my job very seriously - because buying and selling property is a very important undertaking and I want to help you get it right - but I see no reason why my clients shouldn’t have a little fun along the way. After all, you should enjoy your new home – it should make you very happy.

Constantly looking to further my education and expertise I have earned several designations and I can now add Massachusetts Real Estate Instructor to my achievements. Over the years I have belonged to several volunteer organizations, including past President of Acton/Boxborough Newcomers Club, Chairperson of Boxborough Public Celebrations Committee and co-hosting DivorceCare, a spiritual program designed to help people heal after separation and divorce. I am also an active member of Harvard Lions Club. My mother became blind in later years and the Lions Club fund-raising focus on eye research is close to my heart.

My sons are now young adults with busy lives so I see them as often as I can, and when time allows I enjoy traveling to England to spend time with good friends and family. I miss having a dog and plan to rectify the situation soon. My other claim to fame is taking part in an episode of Ask This Old House which was immense fun and I got to use Tom Silver’s power tools! I have a serious interest in home improvement and decorating.

When it comes to buying and selling your home I would love to represent and advocate for you. Sharing the process and helping you navigate the real estate market is a privilege I never take for granted. My clients say I am knowledgeable, skillful and patient so please let me prove myself to you.
